Event Options

Most folks will enjoy the challenge of tackling the 50kms as a test of their fitness and ability. For others however, walking to full 50kms can be a daunting prospect, and still others would like to make the event a family experience and include their children - toddlers to teenagers.

Fees and Funds Review the registration fees and fundraising pledge targets applicable to you.

Due to popular demand, we have introduced new variations of the 50km walk so that the walk options are now as follows:

50km Walk

This is the normal 50km event option that most walkers/runners will opt for. You will be travelling the full 50kms.

50km School Students

This walk is intended for schools wishing to enter teams of students into the walk. Your teams will be travelling the full 50kms and your teams will consist of at least 2 members (but can be any size). School teams can be configured as relay teams - simply register all team members and let us know that you are intending to configure your team as a relay team (remember that the walking school students must always be accompanied by a walking adult).

Family Walk

Walk the event as a family. Parents can do the full 50kms and have their children accompany them for the first one or two Pitstops (in prams, on bikes, or on foot). Parents can elect to conclude their walks at either Pitstop1 or Pitstop 2 or alternatively, have friends or family meet them to take care of their children while they walk on and complete the full 50km. Relay Walk

If the thought of walking the full 50kms seems too daunting, then why not assemble a relay team? That way you can walk as little or as much as you feel comfortable with. Relay teams have a maximum of 4 people in them - and each person walking a section of the event must be accompanied by at least one other person (for safety reasons). In other words, a team will be made up of at least 2 or more members, while 1 of the team 'members' may be a relay team (of up to 4 people). For more details on the Relay walk click here.
