Relay Walk

Entering the event as a relay team allows the 50km course to be broken down into smaller distances to be shared out amongst the relay team members. Combined together, the relay team will cover the full 50km course, but individual team members will only travel on their selected segment or segments, and then hand off to their next relay team member. Relay team members can walk any of the course segments and relay teams can have any number of team members.

Remember, one of the event rules is that all walkers (including relay teams) must walk with at least another walker for safety reasons. This other walker (called a "buddy") may be another team member from your relay team or may in fact be a walker from another team.

A few examples will help explain how your relay team might be configured:

Relay Team Example 1

Team: Roger's Rockets - 6 members (Roger, Cynthia, Alice, Trevor, Geoff & Sally)

Roger and Cynthia want to walk the full 50kms - their friends, Alice, Trevor, Geoff and Sally would prefer to do 1 segment of the course each.
